The political rodomontade Joseph Biden is one of the worst, maybe the worst, president in US history yet he prevailed over Donald Trump, one of the best, maybe even a great president. And the Democrats, despite their failures, still win. How has this happened?
President Trump claims fraud. Dead folks, non-citizens and others who are ineligible to vote, those who vote early and often, and those who vote in more than one jurisdiction are loyal Democratic constituencies. Do those voting constituencies cast enough votes to decide an election? Yes, if it is otherwise close. Examples include, Richard Nixon’s loss of Illinois in 1960, Rick McIntyre’s loss of a US House seat in 1984, Woody Jenkins’s loss of a US Senate race in 1996, Dino Rossi’s loss of a governorship in 2004, and Norm Coleman’s loss of his senate seat in 2008, Republicans all, and all were close and likely decided as a result of fraud. Joseph Stalin reportedly said that “it is not who voted that counts, but who counts the votes.” The Democrats have done him one better by controlling who gets the ballots.
So is President Trump correct? After all, the issues favored him. The issues for the 2022 midterms favored Republicans; Illegal immigration, sex trafficking and deadly drug smuggling were not determinative; Inflation was largely ignored; crime waves, rioting and looting were excused; other than in a few local races; transgenderism was not opposed; the Biden family corruption was dismissed, the humiliation of America let along the death of American soldiers due to President Biden’s incompetence had no real effect.
What then generated what really was the Biden victory in 2020 and the Democratic Party victory in 2022? The two major factors are Democratic Party control of the ballots in key swing states and following Saul Alinsky’s advice that power is won and kept not by discussing issues but by the politics of personal destruction. The Democrats, with the help of the media, have surrounded the Republican Party with a negative atmosphere and Trump, with his help, with a poisonous aura. Atmospherics or impressions trump issues. Facts don’t matter very much.
With the Democratic Party’s campaign tactics and control of the election laws (the ballots) in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Arizona added to a base that includes California, New York, Illinois, Oregon, Washington State, Washington D.C. ,Maryland, Hawaii, and almost all of New England, no Republican is likely to be elected president in 2024 and beyond.
The failure of Republican controlled state legislative bodies to oppose the Democrats well planned excuse to institute wide-spread mail-in voting and vote harvesting (who really fills out the ballots or chooses which voters get them) followed after 2020 with failure to correct the obvious problems illustrates why the Republican Party as a party is politically stupid and cowardly without the courage of its own expressed convictions (assuming it has any).
